Marvel Studios has recently unveiled a stunning new banner artwork, crafted by Ryan Meinerding, the Head of Visual Development. This impressive piece showcases beloved characters from the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, including fan favorites like Deadpool and Wolverine.
Interestingly, although there were rumors suggesting its connection to the upcoming film "Avengers: Doomsday," this artwork was not specifically created for that project. However, it does incorporate costumes from the anticipated movie, such as Bucky Barnes' New Avengers uniform and Sam Wilson's Captain America outfit.
Thor’s appearance in the artwork is particularly striking, blending elements from his new costume for "Avengers: Doomsday" with previous designs, showcasing his long hair and iconic Mjolnir. Notably, Iron Man makes an appearance despite his character having met a tragic end in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," while the Scarlet Witch is depicted in her recognizable attire from "WandaVision."
The banner also introduces newer characters who have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), such as God Loki, and features the Fantastic Four alongside Wolverine and Deadpool. If you take a closer look, you'll even spot the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Ant-Man family lurking in the background.
Marvel Japan has announced that AEON Cinema will present a series of giant murals titled "Original Art Scenic" representing Disney's rich narrative tradition in 24 theaters across the nation starting January 2025. Thus far, three exclusive types of Art Scenic showcasing vibrant interpretations of characters from "Disney," "Pixar," and "Star Wars" have already graced theater lobbies.
Meinerding expressed his excitement in a press release, stating, "I’m thrilled to finally reveal the artwork I designed for AEON Cinema. This piece celebrates nearly two decades of Marvel Studios and its legendary characters. To clarify any misunderstandings, this is not related to 'Avengers: Doomsday'! I drew my favorite Marvel heroes, and I hope that movie fans in Japan will appreciate it."
While it's disappointing that Spider-Man isn’t included, the sight of these iconic characters coexisting in one artwork is nothing short of exhilarating. Of course, fans can expect to see them together in live-action during "Avengers: Doomsday."
